Language Assistants for Chinese (School Placements): British Council/HSBC Global Education Programme: 2012

The British Council are delighted to offer the unique opportunity for three clusters of two or three

schools to have a Chinese Language Assistant (CLA) for the 2012-13 academic year. These CLAs will

be fully funded by our partner HSBC Global Education Programme and are available only to schools and academies who are new to teaching Mandarin and have not previously hosted a CLA.

What are Summer Camps? In 2010 The SSAT/DfE/Hanban China Summer Camps 2010 ran from 13 - 27 July 2010. Over 400 students and teachers participated in the visit to China, managed by the SSAT Confucius Institute in partnership with the Department of Education (DfE) and the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban).

UK, Accreditations, Chinese GCSE, AQA Task Planning Forms

For schools with AQA Chinese candidates 2011:  Hard copy Task Planning Forms for the 2011 exam will be sent to schools/colleges in late November 2010. These must only be used with candidates submitting controlled assessment tasks to us in summer 2011.

For candidates in Year 10, submitting controlled assessment tasks in summer 2012, Task Planning Forms are available from the Administration/Procedures/Coursework administration section of www.aqa.org.uk. These Task Planning Forms must be used for summer 2012 as they reflect the guidance issued in AQA Examinations Update Issue 8 (ie visuals of any kind are not permitted).
